Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Accountable for every aspect of the construction, Panacea staff understand that quality assurance and quality control begins day one on a project—whether that starts with preconstruction, a shovel in the ground or commissioning—and is maintained until the last punch-list item is completed.
Panacea has evolved and refined our quality control processes. We conduct specific quality control measures ranging from mockups to multiple on-site inspections to equipment testing. We also recognize that the success of the quality control effort is a direct reflection of team effort and take a proactive role in coordinating with all members of your consultant team including architects, engineers, owner’s representatives and brokers.
Prior to the execution of any subcontractor agreements, our project teams thoroughly familiarize themselves with all aspects of the construction documents and formulate detailed plans of execution. All subcontractors on site are required to meet the quality assurance standards throughout the project.
Panacea monitors all work to meet the intent of the construction documents. If any work or installation is not installed to the satisfaction of the owner, the architect or Panacea’s personnel, this work is rejected with a notice of non-conforming work directed to the responsible trade.
We take pride in the workmanship of our staff and our subconsultants. At Panacea we are committed to delivering the highest quality product and successfully meeting our clients’ goals and expectations on every assignment, regardless of size or complexity. There is no substitute for a job well done.
A Master Plan to Achieve the Project Schedule
The schedule, the glue that holds all the parts in place, is carefully developed incorporating all of the activities, relationships and required milestone dates for the work of all trades. Construction activities are resource loaded, allocating estimated values for cost, materials and manpower resources.
Keeping you apprised of the schedule status is paramount. Following final client approval, the schedule serves as the baseline to track the progress of construction and the overall percentage of work completed. Updates to the project schedule are prepared at regular intervals using daily field reports, progress photos and subcontractor schedule submissions. Updates are provided monthly, or as required by our clients.
Work in the field is continually monitored by Panacea and through regular reporting required of each subcontractor. Progress is measured on each activity, and the schedule updated based on remaining durations required to complete each task at the level of productivity achieved to date.
Schedule performance is a mandatory topic at all project coordination and progress review meetings with subcontractors and is proactively managed.
Value Management
In almost every aspect of our lives, saving time and money is imperative. The goal of value management is to seek ways to improve the quality and efficiency of a project while maintaining the client’s (and architect’s) original vision or intent.
Our staff reviews the available documents with all team members considering: possible high-cost elements, material availability and the purchase of long lead items; constructability; schedule reductions; and logistical improvements. We work with the architect to recommend alternatives that may create cost and time reductions. A value management program can provide significant savings to our clients.
Our staff has the knowledge and experience to recognize potential problems or high cost issues quickly—and provide effective, satisfactory solutions. Recommended suggestions may range from the purchase of a different type of stone or light fixture to fast-track scheduling to bring Day-One occupancy closer.
